Escaping Survival Mode

As of late, it’s almost as if scales are falling off my eyes.

I’m beginning to see things not just for what they appear to be — but for what they are. The patterns. The cycles. The symptoms. Some of this is so much deeper than a struggle – it’s spiritual.

Growing up in survival mode, you don’t always have the tools to fully grasp what you’re living through. You just keep going, adapting, and pushing past normal thresholds of pain. But at some point, the numbing starts to wear off — and you recognize burdens you were never meant to carry.

You can just drive through certain neighborhoods and witness the evidence of generational poverty — food deserts, underperforming schools, people in poor health, developmental disability in our children, and unstable housing. But what if I told you this isn’t just systemic?

In the final chapters of Deuteronomy, Moses stands before the people of Israel to caution them between the choice of Life or Death, Prosperity or Disaster. Not in a metaphorical way. He literally tells them what happens if they obey God — and what happens if they don’t. He talks about illness, scarcity of resources, mass confusion, and generational consequences. And while this message was for Israel, the principle is timeless.

Some of you are probably saying to yourself, “We can’t choose the circumstances we’re born into.” And to that, I’d say — of course. Some of us inherited darkness, dysfunction, and trauma that’s not always tied to a zip code. But more than anything, what we do have is the power to choose something different. Just as Moses urged the Israelites to “Choose Life” to the benefit of themselves, their families, and future generations – that same invitation stands today.

We’ve become far too numb to dysfunction — trading fake food for real nourishment, propaganda for truth, our souls for attention, chaos for peace, and immorality for purpose. But those on the narrow road know it doesn’t have to be that way. You don’t have to exist in survival mode.

Choosing Christ isn’t just about salvation — it’s about liberation.
It’s about waking up to who you really are, and renewing your Spirit/Identity through the consistent application of His Word. When you begin living out God’s principles, things start to shift — not just around you, but within.

This isn’t a prosperity gospel. This is a call to alignment — to accept Jesus Christ not just as Savior, but as Lord. It’s about living a life that reflects His glory and honors His sacrifice. A life marked by obedience, integrity, and spiritual clarity.

It’s about men learning to lead with humility, discipline, and purpose and women embracing their worth, wisdom, and divine calling. It’s about shedding the false identities the world has placed on us and choosing instead to see ourselves the way God sees us. To become who He’s called us to be — not who the culture convinced us we had to be. Because the Bible isn’t just a book. It’s our foundation.

Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.

And no, it won’t happen overnight. But every small decision matters.
What you watch. What you eat. Who you follow. What you believe. How you use your time.

You were created for more than just survival. So choose life, light, and love. Because even if you were born in the dark, God still gives you the choice to step into something different.

The Israelites weren’t just choosing between obedience and rebellion — they were choosing between bondage and promise. Between wandering and entering a land flowing with milk and honey. That phrase wasn’t just about wealth or luxury — it represented peace, provision, and the kind of rest that only comes from alignment with God.

And that same promise is available to us today. Lives full of clarity, wholeness, and purpose.

You don’t have to keep walking in circles.
You don’t have to carry what wasn’t meant for you.
There’s so much more out there.

The land of milk and honey still exists — for those willing to work toward it.
